A Lobbyist for Netroots Nation?? (w/ poll)

In a story today, as an aside, Markos talks about how we don't have AT&T's millions or its lobbyists.
Well, why not hire a lobbyist for the netroots?
Our lobbyist (maybe "full-time advocate" is a better phrase) wouldn't play the dirty money games that make up much of the DC lobbying scene, but could play three important roles that other grassroots lobbyists play:
-Using the knowledge that comes across Daily Kos and other sites every day to educate elected officials, so they have no excuse to know less about the issues than the community here.
-Making sure that Democratic and progressive leadership knows about the priorities and strategic choices of the netroots and advancing those priorities as other progressive groups plot strategy.
-Helping to make the process more transparent for netroots activists to make their views known directly to their representatives.
And I don't mean hire a lobbying firm or someone who's already a lobbyist. I mean one of our own, to play that role on our behalf.
What do you think? I have some concerns in my mind, but let's get a discussion going. Does this make sense? Only if done a certain way? If so, what should it look like?
